Was there a time where religion didn’t conflict with progress and have we ped that time?

Christians just love pointing out that a lot of the forefathers of modern science were themselves devout Christians, but that is most definitely not the case in today’s world where it’s almost laughable to think of modern scientists actually believing in the Christian creation myth and ridiculously absurd stores like Noah’s Ark. So I’m sure we’ve ped a point where, prior to this point, religion served no barrier at all to technological and societal progress but after this point, religion has become to progress what a dam is to a river. Do you think Darwin’s great theory coincides with that point in time?
