How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

ooh! i did a science experiment on this with my group in middle school. The four of us licked a tootsie pop until it disintegrated and recorded each lick. Then we averaged our numbers. The average number of licks was 1,113. Try it sometime.
